Invention of Homoeopathy

The nature's law of cure was known to world much before Dr. Hahnemann but it was Dr. Hahnemann who first established it as a way to cure diseases.

When Dr. Hahnemann was translating Cullen's Materia Medica from English to German in 1790 he came across a chapter on Cinchona Bark (quinine) a medicine given specific for malarial fever. Underneath a footnote mentioned that Cinchona Bark sometimes produces symptoms like that of malarial fever if healthy person takes it, but it was also written that this might be because of the bitter taste of the Cinchona juice.

He decided to ascertain this statement. He started experimenting on himself. He took Cinchona Bark juice and observed that he got typical intermittent fever like that in malaria. He discontinued and found that he had returned to good health.

He became sure of the footnote and by proving many drugs on himself, his disciples and his friends he arrived at the law of SIMILIA SIMILIBUS CURENTUR
